Chapter 3: Get Your head on this Hattori!

   “Come on, come on. What’s taking so long? I need to get out of this classroom. A case is waiting for me. Kudo is counting on me… Ran.. needs… him…” thought Heiji

   ”Ran… Ran… The one girl I want… The one girl I need… what if… No, no Hattori! USE YOUR HEAD!!!”

    Heiji kept his thoughts focused not on the case and helping Conan but on Ran. He did everything to keep his mind away from what happened a couple of months ago. It was the best memory he ever had but he knows he should never revisit it. Why should he give himself false hope for Ran when he knows that only Kudo can make her happy? Also, what’s the use pretending that she had felt the same for him, at least for awhile.

    ”Stop it Hattori, Ran only sees you as a friend or a brother at most. Stop it! Get your head in this case!”

Flashbacks:

     ”Ran, I just want you to know…” Said Heiji while his hands were holding Ran’s face.

    “What is it Heiji?” said Ran, a bit afraid. Her heart was beating so quickly. “Why? She thought? What is he about to tell me?”

     ”Ever since that play, I haven’t been the same. It’s so different. It’s hard for me. I’m torn between one of my best buds and myself. I don’t know what to do. But Ran, it’s just that…

      “Yes Heiji? What is it?”

      Heiji stared at her lips and moved closer. “Ran, I’m really confused but I just want you to know that…

      Ms. Mouri!

       “Yes Mr. Hanazawe?”

      “Nice to have you back on planet Earth. It seems that you’ve been in another planet. Ms. Mouri, it is not a sin to be in love but I recommend that you and mr. Hattori stop engaging in public displays of affection.”

      “Displays of affection! What do you mean, sir?” blurted Heiji and Ran at the same time.

      “Teenagers of today really make the lamest excuses. What do you call holding hands in class?”
