The Free Partisan Rangers

I knew my German girl friend Katrina only lived a few miles away. If I could make it to her apartment I should be all right. I made it over to her apartment in about 30 minutes, only to find out it was empty. I thought to myself,

She went along with everyone else to air raid shelters. I had to find her.

Some locals came up to me looking for help, but I could do nothing. I couldn’t even help myself. My mind started drifting again about Sinclair.

How am I going to tell his Mom?

Will I ever make it out of here, what the hell have I done?  I thought to myself

I had to keep a clear head.

If you want to survive Bo then keep a clear head and think.

I thought as I started thinking back on what my father once told me. My father always called me Bo, ever since he was a child. When I was young and everything was so simple.

I suddenly heard a voice behind me.

“Come with me, I am an American. You can trust me”.  Said a man dressed in an orange jump suite; he must work as a street sweeper for the City. A lot of American meet German girls here and stayed after they get out of the Army.

He told me his name was Jerry Tanner and that he got out of the Army a few years back and stayed in Berlin. Jerry read my name tape from my uniform and said

“You need some new cloths if you want to live”.

He asked me how to say my name. I told him to just call me Bo. Jerry explained to me that the East German paratroopers had taken over the American Headquarter and I should follow him. Jerry took off his orange jacket and told me to put it on. So I did.

“Bo, you need some new cloths, stay here I’ll be right back”. Said Jerry.

A few minutes later Jerry threw him a pair of jeans.
