The story takes place some time in the morning. Jeffrey Lyons wakes up in a cold sweat.

Jeffrey threw off the covers, rolled out of bed and landed on the floor, shaking so from the chill he felt all over his body. He staggered into the bathroom to get himself ready for a shower, but it was no use. He just couldn’t stand very well, because of his legs just wouldn’t hold him up. So he staggered back to his bed where he then picked up his phone to call Terry Japlin, who was on her way to her car, when her cell phone rang. She looked at her caller identification and then flipped the phone open. “Yes, Mr. Lyons. I do hope your on your way down to the station. I’m heading down that way myself. I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”

“Ms. Japlin. I’m afraid I won’t be able to make it. I’m just not well this morning.” Jeffrey Lyon’s told her while he was wiping his forehead with his bed sheet. “Look, Mr. Lyons. We have business matters to discuss with Detective Malin. Surely, it isn’t something that can’t be handled with some aspirin.” Terry Japlin suggested, as she climbed into her car, closed her door, pulled out her car keys from her purse and started the ignition. “Ms. Japlin, I assure you. I’m not well. I can’t stand sturdy on my feet. Can you please come down here and get me? In the mean time, I’ll get dressed as best as I can. There is a lot we need to discuss, I’m sure. But I’m no good to drive. I woke up this morning with sweat drenching my body. I can’t explain the cause of it. Please come for yourself and see. I assure you I’m telling the truth. I stake my career, and the lives of my wife and two children on it.” Jeffrey Lyons said in a barely audible voice.

“Okay, Mr. Lyons. Get dressed and I’ll be down to your place to pick you up. We’ll discuss this matter further on the drive down to the station,” Terry Japlin responded calmly, and then flipped the phone shut. Jeffrey Lyons was adjusting his neck tie when there was a knock at the door. “I’ll be there in a minute,” he shouted as he crawled to the door, and pulled himself up while hanging onto the doorknob. He then opened up the door for Terry Japlin while bracing himself against the wall. “Mr. Lyons, what’s happened to you? Have you been drinking?” she asked sternly while looking at him with accusing eyes. “No. It’s just that I went to bed after speaking to you last night, when I had strange dreams. I can’t understand them myself. Then when I woke up this morning. I was covered with sweat, shivering. I don’t know why. Trust me, when I say I’m lucid and sober. I don’t have a hang over. It’s just those strange dreams I had last night. They regard two deceased victims. Ms. Lawson and Ms. Thompson. Only it wasn’t Cora Thompson, it was her sister Lila Thompson.” he said while trying to hold himself up.

“Mr. Lyons, are you insane? Do you realize what you are even saying to me?” Terry Japlin said abruptly while grabbing a hold of Jeffrey Lyons and helping walk over to the sofa to sit down. “I told you it was a crazy dream I had. But don’t you think it’s possible that it could have been Cora Thompson, herself who did these murders? And she killed her twin sister, and set Mika Lawson up. I strongly believe we should investigate these matters further. It would really give me some peace of mind.” Jeffrey Lyons said while taking a tissue from the coffee table and wiping his eyes to clear his vision. “Where are your files regarding the case, Mr. Lyons?” Terry Japlin asked while looking around the living room. “They’re on the kitchen table. I got everything prepared last night before I went to bed,” he said while taking deep breaths to calm himself.

Terry Japlin walked into the kitchen and took the files from the table and stuffed them into her large purse. She then went into the living room and asked, “Can I get you a nice, cold glass of water, or even make you a cup of coffee to calm your nerves?” she asked while noticing him shaking, and then added, “Maybe a nice cup of hot tea would be better, or even some chamomile.” She asked while sitting down next to Jeffrey on the sofa and felt his forehead with her hand. Terry Japlin then got up from the sofa, walked into the kitchen and searched the cupboards for some tea or chamomile. Once she found the chamomile, she brewed some water in the coffee machine. She then walked into the hallway way and got into the linen closet to get a wash cloth, and ran it under some cool water. After opening the medicine cabinet, Terry Japlin searched the shelves until she came across a thermometer. She then entered the living room and placed the ear thermometer into Jeffrey Lyons’s ear. His temperature is 103 degrees. Terry Japlin then placed the cool washcloth on Jeffrey Lyons’s forehead and wiped his entire face, while washing away his discomfort. She then undid Jeffrey Lyons’s tie and took it off of him. “Mr. Lyons’s, I really need to get you to a hospital. I’m going to call my father and tell him to go onto the meeting without us. I’ll have him meet us up at the hospital where I can give him the files Detective Milan requested. I’m also going to call your wife and your father to let them know what’s going on with you. Basically, I’m going to bring them up to speed. Can you stand up at all enough to lean against me, while we walk outside to my car?”

“I think so, Ms. Japlin. I’ll give it a try anyway. The only thing I do know for sure is that I’m very cold. And I have the shakes too, because I feel so chilled, “ Jeffrey Lyons said softly. Terry Japlin took Jeffrey Lyons’s cell phone and searched the index for Denise and Jeffrey’s father’s telephone numbers. Mr. Roger Lyons told her, “I’ll meet you at Jordan General Hospital, Ms. Japlin. Again, thanks for caring about my son, and for taking the time to call me. I’m sure my Jeffrey has told you that Denise and the children are at her folks on a family emergency. I know she appreciates you calling her very much. I’m glad you could be there for him. See you there, dear.”
