Karen Harris is a young woman who narrowly escapes death on the freeway. She recovers and begins to rebuild her career when she comes face to face with a reality. Unless she takes decisive action her life will be cut short.

She gave Bree the FAX number.

“Now, look at that FAX, there are two pages, and if you agree, sign them, print your name and send it back. That binds me to send you the money as soon as I verify the pictures. It also says you saw Darin King and Karen Harris at the Coffee House together and you were the one who took the pictures and you are passing the rights to use them tome. Don’t sign that if it isn’t true.”

Bree watched the FAX and it started out. She now had the name and address and phone number of the person who could verify the Coffee Shop meet and it had only cost her $300 if she couldn’t sell the pictures. With luck the pictures may be worth more than that.

“Now, Darla Jones, that is your name?”

“Yes. I have the FAX. I need you to send the three pictures to me.” She gave her cell phone number.

“OK.”

“Darla, you don’t share those pictures or this call with anyone today. Tell you son to do the same. Don’t talk about it to anyone. These pictures are only worth money because they can be used on a TV show tonight. Now I have to get on the line with the people on the show. You will have a check for $300 in the next couple of days. I will call you back if we sell your pictures but I am selling them to the show for one use. I may be able to sell them to someone else. And if you ever get something like this again, keep my number and call me. I can usually sell a picture. Don’t mention it to friends till after tomorrow but I would look at any pictures in the future.”

“Gee. You mean my cell camera may be able to make money.”

“If you are at the right place and time, yes. My husband does it with a more expensive camera but pictures from cell cameras have sold for over ten thousand.”

“Wow.”

“Talk to you later. Remember, nothing out till tomorrow.”

Bree called NT again. While she was taking she set up to transfer the three pictures to the server.

“Bree here again. I have a couple things that I think have some more value.”

“Like what?” The producer had to admit the items she was buying had value but she had already laid out a lot of money. What else could Bree have?

“A signed document from someone who said they were at the coffee shop. I can FAX it to you. In addition I have three pictures of Karen and Darin there, they are not professional but they are decent pictures taken by a Nokia cell camera. They are definitively Karen and Darin. They will be on the server in three minutes if you want them. If not I can market them somewhere else. What are they worth?”

“You are killing my budget. The best I can do is a thousand.”

“I can give you single first use and not exclusive if you want. I can give you that for three. I will not try to sell them till after your show airs.”

“Three is good.”

“Sold. The password is Darin.” At the three thousand she could pay three hundred to Daria and then pay Daria twenty four hundred more. She would keep three hundred. It was small change compared to the rest of the morning but it made NT very happy and Bree was good at milking the last dollar out of a transaction. After taxes that would be two hundred more on the mortgage. And there was one more person out there who may some day call her with something valuable. Ten percent of something was better than nothing.

NT started working on their major segment for the evening.

At three in the afternoon Bree started calling producers of the morning shows. She left messages that she would have something to sell after seven tonight.
