One of Patti’s schoolmates comes into the picture.

“Actually, we will have someone here in a couple days who also does Christian Bands. I can’t tell you the name now. That is a surprise but if you ask after the show I can tell you.”

Diane laughed. “I know. But I can keep a secret. Our band plays with that one at times. He has filled in with our band when we needed. Oops. I can’t tell that. And for the audience, that show will be worth watching.” Patti smiled. Diane had just increased the size of their audience for the next week without knowing how she did it.

“Let’s not say more now.”

“Sure.”

“Do you do anything else?”

“Well, to keep in shape I hike. I do some rock climbing. I actually have to do some of that at times on the job so it is good practice. Sometimes sites are on hills. I usually do them. Bruce isn’t as good at climbing rocks. For real fun I play in pickup games of soccer.”

“Wow.”

“I hate to just sit and watch TV. I’m not a good spectator unless one of my kids is playing.” She dropped her head and continued, “I’m not a good spectator then either.”

“I wasn’t aware that there was any pick-up soccer in the area for women.”

Diane dropped her head. “Well. There are two but they would rather I not play. I tend to be a little aggressive. I do the guys circuit. Even they can be wimpy at times. They don’t understand that if you are going to play you are going to have a few bruises.”

“Aren’t you a little short, you are my size, five two, I mean the guys are taller.”

“They have farther to fall.”

Patti decided to not go there. “And you have kids?”

“Four of them. Seventeen, sixteen, fourteen, and thirteen. Yes, I know. I did the baby factory thing. Four C-sects. I don’t know what natural birth is like, I am told it is a pain in the butt. Let me tell you, a C-sect is a pain in the belly. We had four. We missed one year. I was tired. Actually, we were getting behind in the business and I waited to get pregnant to catch up. I am a firm believer in planned parenthood.” She looked at the camera. “Yep, kids, if you are watching like you were told, in case you didn’t know, all of you were planned. There were no accidents.”

Every one laughed. Diane was captivating the audience and Patti knew it. She would let her run.
