Florida, where the city meets the wilderness, and for Disney fans, where mystery meets magic. Nothing is more true for the selected DHI’s, or the Kingdom Keepers who have a bigger responsibility than just remembering when to return to to use their FastPass. They have to constantly keep the forces of Disney’s most villainous characters at bay. They recently created a game, (with the help of Wayne, the oldest Imagineer, still with Disney) where everyday kids can help defeat the Overtakers. VMN. With the original five Kingdom keepers busy hard at work, it’s up to the new ones to protect Disney.

Chapter 10

Jet was in disbelief, of the night before. He had woken up in the same position he had fallen asleep in. How could it have been real though? It felt so real, and he could remember everything so clearly, unlike any other dream he had forgotten. Alice was the only he could talk to about it. Alice and him shared that. That ability to open up to each other and say what ever was on their minds. He knew he would be able to do that soon with the other DHI’s.

Donnie was at the Peter Pan ride in Fantasyland not far away from Kat, just a bit hidden by the crowds. He looked around for any evidence of the last night’s fight, as if the fact that two of the ships were in repair that day. It was so unreal. He wanted to believe it so badly, but he struggled with it at the moment.

Kat was sitting in Liberty Square. She finaly decided to get up and go into Fantsyland, for it was 2:30. She decided to try the PPR one more time.

Donovan spotted her that time, and in his surprise for seeing her, he called out through the crowds, “Kat? Is that you?” He pushed and nudged his way through the crowds to get to her.

Kat decided to sit on a bench in front of “It’s a small world.” She couldn’t find him, she knew he was there, and it was almost like she could hear him. Kat pulled out a sheet of music and began polishing her work from that morning.

Suddenly Donovan had made it to the spot next to her bench, after a bit of struggling with the ever-ignorant crowds. “Kat?” he asked again, a bit out of breath.

Kat was submerged in her music. She was so into it she didn’t think anything could pull her away, untill she heard her name. She looked at her wristwatch, it said 2:45, They wouldn’t be here yet, finally she decided to look up. Donovan. Kat smiled, “I knew I would find you here.”

He smiled a little and shrugged. “So, last night…” he said, unable to finish until he got a grip of what he was actually about to ask her. It must have sounded stupid to ask her a question like it, but he knew he had to ask. “Was all of that real?

Brian had already told his parents that he would be home late from school. He jumped on his bike and rode to the park. He texted Kat.
I’m at the park. Where r u guys?

Kat stood up. She started walking, and Donnie knew he was suppose to follow. Kat finally spoke, “Yea, I think so.” With that she stopped. Donovan looked up at what he was suppose to be looking at. It was a sign on the Haunted Mansion. “Last night me and Alice were chased through there by an armed Knight and Ghosts, and now its closed. I think its real.”

Then Kat spoke again, “Come on we have to get back to the Carrousel, we are meeting the others there soon.” As they started walking to the park, Kat got a text from Brian. She looked up at Donnie, “It’s Brian”
Kat texted back
I found Don, were heading to the Carrousel to meet up with everyone.

“Ok. I’ll be there in a sec.” He texted.
Brian ran to the Carousel as fast as possible. When he reached it, he walked to Don and Kat.

“Hey” Kat said smiling, she was at the park now, angry free.
Kat looked at her phone. It was 3:15 now. “They might not be here for a bit. I was thinking when they got here we should either sneak into Haunted Mansion, or go to PPR when they do get here.”

“I dunno.” Brian said.

Alice couldn’t take it anymore, she had to find Jet. She ran through the halls of the school until she found him at his locker, then took him by the arm and began to march off. “Alice? Where are we going?” he asked, stumbling backwards as she pulled him along awkwardly.
“We have to go meet up with everyone, I can’t stand this anymore,” she replied in a hushed voice.
“Everyone? Who’s everyone?”
“The DHI’s… It’s about last night.”

Jet didn’t say anything, neither did Alice. They had both realized the truth about the night before, and were so flabbergasted that they had nothing to say. Alice let go of Jet’s arm they neared the school’s exit, and with that they left for the parks.
As they entered on the soonest bus, Alice sent Kat a text.

Jet and I are on our way from the school right now. 20 min. tops.

*****************

Donovon looked at Kat. “You and Alice were attacked?” was all he could say.

Kat stared at Don, after there whole walk to the Carrousel and meeting up with Brian this was the first time he had spoken, “Yea.” was all Kat could reply. Her phone then beeped again, it was Alice. “20 minutes.” Kat said, and brian and donovan both knew what she ment. Then Kat spoke. “I haven’t eaten for a while, do you want to come with me to get some fries at Friar’s Nook?”

“Sure,” Donnie said. “I’v only got a little cash, but that’s cool. We shouldn’t take too long if Alice and Jet are going to be here soon, though.”

“Yea.. it’s right over here.” Kat said. Then she texted Alice.

Friar’s Nook. I found Donnie and Brian just got here.

Alice replied back quickly, Gotcha, be there soon.

Donnie found a table and leaned against it to save it; empty tables went fast at Disney world, and they couldn’t afford to lose it, especially when it was one of the bigger ones. He turned to Kat and asked her, “You wanna save the table while I go get the fries?”

“Sure, if you want me too.” Kat sat down. She was excited to see Alice and Jet again.

Donovan went to the counter and ordered the fries, then came back with all of them for the table. “You’ve got to tell me about the Haunted Mansion when Alice and Jet get back,” he said, sounding concerned.

Alice and Jet were running hard through the parks, cutting through gift shops to avoid the crowds. Some cast members scowled at them for running indoors, and others were blown away as they blazed past. Eventually they reached Fantasyland and were out of breath, so they had to walk. When they made it to Friar’s Nook, they wearily walked to the table and took a seat. “Hi, guys!” Alice said, smiling eagerly. Jet looked around apprehensively then took his seat next to Alice. “Hey,” he said to everyone at the table. He would have said more, but he and Alice were both out of breath from the run.

Kat looked up. “Hey. We need to talk.” She looked at Donnie. “Donnie wants to know about the Haunted Mansion and I’m sure Jet and Brian do too, unless you already filled them in, and i want to know how you guys got involved in a pirate ship fight.” Then Kat stopped, Daring someone to respond.

Alice took a french fry, followed by Donovan and then Jet. “Well… Maybe you and I should start with the Haunted Mansion,” she said to Katt after swallowing. “I looked up the park today on my phone– I read Haunted Mansion’s closed.”

“Yea. I went over there when i came this morn…” Kat cut herself off, realizing she just admitted cutting school to all of them. Then she looked up and continue. “Do you want to sneak in? I was going to but i figured if i would i should probably talk to you guys first.”

Alice gave some thought to this before answering. “Maybe we should.. Check it out tonight,” she had said it. Jet looked at her, half of a french fry in his hand and still chewing on the other. Donovan looked at her, too. “We’ll be safer if we stick together. And, I’m sure they have mechanics in there during the day fixing it up. Going in during the day is too risky. We could lose our passes. And then our parents would find out about all of this.”

“Yea. I agree.” Kat said, then paused, “What about the knight,” Kat’s fear was about to slowly come back, but she tried to push it away.

“I have an idea about the knight,” Alice said. She seemed so fragile, her blue eyes glistening in the sun and her hair dancing in the wind. What she said next seemed unexpected, “Leave the knight to me, I can handle him.” It was true, in her head she was forming a plan.

“Uh, wh..” Kat’s voice wouldn’t continue, she looked down at her shoes, then back up again. She looked at the other three, trying to read there expressions.

“Are you sure about this? Someone should go with you. Just in case.” Brian said, showing his shock and concern.

“Well, I guess you could come along if you want,” Alice said, a bit shocked anyone cared. Sure, Jet cared about her and so did lots of other people, but she still didn’t know how to accept it. “Of course, you guys would be in the Mansion anyways, but the more people there are with me, the more dangerous it will be..” she said, trying not to expose her plan. “You guys can investigate and I’ll work with the knight.” Alice didn’t want Brian or Kat to go with her because she didn’t want them to get hurt.

“Phh, nothing can hurt me! Except sharp and pointy things. Lets just say I’ve had bad experiences with them.” Brian said.

Alice blinked at Brian and gathered her hair over her shoulder to keep the wind from blowing it around so much anymore. “Well… the knight does carry a giant axe of sorts… That’s pretty sharp, if I understand correctly,” she said.

Kat laughed at Brian’s comment and then Alice’s. “Ok ok.. so we are going to go to sleep and then some of us are going to break into the Haunted Mansion..” then Kat looked away, “I have a different question now,”She looked at Brian, “Can a normally pirate ship car in a WDW ride, unattach it self from it’s track, and fly?” Her laughter was gone. She was dead serious.
