Peering over the mountains Tobias and Jesse find out more about each other.

Part 3

Jesse and I made it up to the mountains today. What a site!!  You could see for miles, and miles around.  There were tons of trees all over the place.  Birds were singing, as they flew from nest to nest, getting food to feed their young ones.

I so wish mom could have made it. She was going to, but just as we were about to leave Uncle George called her inside.  She disappeared only to show back 10 minutes later with a report of “hey there Tobias, Sorry but I need to stay here with your Uncle.  Something has come up, and he needs me her.”  She always did this, it was aggravating, but hey, you gotta get used to it eventually.

So there we were just me and Jesse, setting up camp at the top of this plateau.  We had talked a bit on the way up, and wrestled a little bit.  He is indeed a lot different than others, as he is by far the closest fight I’ve had against anyone my age.  I asked him about the whole ordeal and he laughed, “Just one of the perks to growing up on a farm,” he said laughing.  So I left it be for now…

Jesse and I are going to stay up here for a few days.  He says the weather this time of year is amazing, and no one should miss out on it.  Being from town, I love it up here.  No hustle and bustle, just calm everything.  I do still miss Victoria though, with her long blonde hair and her charming smile.  I go to work for Mr. Beckman as soon as I get back.  I know it’s not the best trade, but hopefully it will get me enough money to ask for her hand in marriage in the nest year or two.

Well, the sun is setting, and I can’t much write with a fire, so I think I better hold off till tomorrow on more writing. I do love it here, the people in the small town, and thieves don’t make their money here.  Next time I come out here I hope it will be to live, as I could definitely see starting a family here.
