There was a legend of a man who seemed to be so mediocre. He left his mark on how we think of tough life.
Hophen had mixed feelings, hoping to have a good job as soon as possible and missing his past work every once in a while. He was happy to have gotten rid of the center he worked for but at the same time he was upset that he could not seek another job easily. Sometimes he regretted that he had resigned too early. Nonetheless, he was optimistic and bought a classified post every day so as to put in for any jobs he found himself qualified for. He also asked his friends for help. Day after day, luck still took no notice of him. As he felt frustrated, he went to a café to have a drink. When he sat down and was ready to order, he spotted a piece of newspaper left unattended on the chair. Curiosity enticed him to take and read it as if he knew something good on it.
There was an advertisement in the paper that was about the recruitment of flunkeys. After reading the whole paper, he ignored the post and put the paper aside. While he was drinking, he had a second thought on the post because his meager life urged him to find a job urgently. In fact, he had to pay housing rent as a necessary expenditure even if he could take one meal a day in order to save money. While he was going to take back the paper to locate where he ought to send an application letter to, the flunkey of the café picked it up as rubbish. Hophen stopped him in no time and grasped it back as his belongings. The flunkey apologized to him and Hophen thanked him sincerely.

Who spotted the paper first, the flunkey or Hophen?
When he read it again, he found it not attractive at all. Both the pay and the perks were not generous. Even so, he deemed later that the salary was enough for him to sustain his livelihood. His mother and sister did not spend much either and they were not his great burden. Even if the pay was not a problem to him, he was still debating whether he should put in for it or not as the requirement of the post was very low. As a university graduate, he should have more choices. Taking a job that did not require academic qualification was nearly an insult to him. Moreover, the post was wanted by a big-scale theme park. It meant that he had the possibility to come across many old friends of his if the park really employed him. When he pondered that point, he became more confused because everybody had self-esteem to a certain extent. He could not make up his mind immediately.
