There was a legend of a man who seemed to be so mediocre. He left his mark on how we think of tough life.

Episode 8: Hophen made all customers see the lamps.

Naught admitted that Hophen did chip in but she said that there was not an autograph book. Heren doubted what Naught said and kept Naught staying in the office. At the same time, Heren asked the security guards to open Lollipop’s locker with the permission of the head of the executive department. Heren found that there was really an autograph book inside and there was a patch of white mark on one of the pages. Heren put the piece of paper close to a light bulb and she could read something behind the paper. The patch covered a statement that Hophen was sorry to pay USD3 only. That was a good discovery. However, paying less did not mean the cause of Lollipop’s inhumane treatment to Hophen. Furthermore Lollipop must say that she treated all her subordinates equally regardless of how much they chipped in.

Second, Heren went to Andy’s office and asked him to display the past 100 records of daily rosters. She did it in a bid to compare the amounts of working hours in the outdoor area of different staff at the Meteor CafĂ© and she was surprised that some of them did not ever work there but Hophen served there for over three hours continuously on most days. Moreover she found that there was really no record for Hophen’s tea break on his last day at the Meteor’s. Lollipop did not arrange a tea break for him before she left and his half an hour of work was not counted in as his part of wage. Heren asked Andy if he examined the rosters. He could not answer it directly but could anticipate that something was going to happen soon.

At that time, Heren knew that the events Hophen stated were real. Heren asked Andy again if Hophen complained that Berry told Hophen to ask for Andy’s permission before going to the toilet. Andy told the truth that Hophen did. Heren found that the relationship between Lollipop and Berry was unusually close. Because Andy did not want to be implicated in his subordinates’ affairs, he did not say good words for anyone in order to play safe.

Heren also interviewed Stupeenie talking about Hophen’s past work. She told Heren that he was not a good staff and his resignation was of his own accord. Heren asked her if she knew why he quitted of his own accord. She could not answer it clearly. Obviously, he was right that she did not ever follow up after the two-day course. Stupeenie did not concern how his work was, let alone deeply understand why he resigned. She was not qualified for a tutor.
