As May reunites with Dylan, she feels like she’s fallen in love all over again.
May’s brown hair streamed behind her as she went down the hill, but her bright blue highlights still stood out. The warm late summer’s breeze blew gently upon her face. May closed her eyes for just a few brief seconds, taking it all in, before opening them. By now, April was close on her tail, chomping down on her sandwich. May rolled her eyes.
Then, just as May caught a glimpse of her high school, Sweet Valley High, and her boyfriend, Dylan waiting down there for her, her skateboard caught on a rock and up she went. April gasped. (Even though she disliked her, May was still, after all, her sister) You could say she flew in the air shortly before crashing down on top of her boyfriend who had come to rescue her.
But still, they crashed down on, fortunately, the grass.
An “Oof!” came from Dylan just as they both landed.
“Oww! Owwww!” this came from May. Then she looked up to see a unbelievably gorgeous face. His dreamy, dark chocolate brown eyes seemed to be a swirling vortex sucking her in.
“Hey, handsome,” she grinned.
“Hey, yourself!” Dylan smiled his adorable crooked smile. “Is this the way you greet people? Flying through the air and falling on top of them? Wow, how does your sister greet people? Coming from the underground?”
May laughed as she got off of him. She straightened out her shirt and smoothed out her ruffled hair.
“That’s how I greet people, only if I’m sure they’ll be there to catch me!” May answered. She stood on her tiptoes and gave Dylan a deep kiss, and he wrapped his hands around her waist.
April just rolled her eyes when she arrived, and dropped May’s skateboard beside them, not wanting to interrupt the two lovebirds, and just walked off to class. Good thing they were in a different class, otherwise the teachers would have a difficult time trying to keep the two from fighting all the time.
It was a long kiss, and when they finally broke apart, the warning bell rang.
“Oops, looks like we’ll have to hurry, my dear,” Dylan grabbed her hand and they ran to their lockers to get their stuff. “Lucky for me, the first period we have are the same. I checked the schedule before you got here.”
“Awesome!” May exclaimed. They grabbed their math textbooks, a notebook, and a couple of other things necessary, before racing for their classroom. But Dylan stopped her abruptly right when they were about to enter.
“Just one more thing,” he said. He bent down and brushed a few strands of her hair back as he planted a quick kiss on May’s cheek. Even though they kissed many times already, and were lovey dovey all the time, May’s heart still fluttered for him every time. To her, he was the only person she could trust completely and open her heart to.
“Okay, I’m good,” Dylan said as he pulled back. He smiled warmly and they stepped into the classroom hand in hand.
