" One day at a time"
if only it was that easy.
” Jacob Reeves” here”
” Miranda Greene” here”
” Jessica Troy” “here”
” Larry Stoneman” ” here”
” Nathan Steward”……
” Nathan Steward??” ” oh , uh here”
The way he repeated my name, he sounded kind of irritated. I guess I can’t blame him. It was the first day of school, and a sleeping student does not leave a good impression on a teacher. He just sighed and continued reading his list of names. I looked across the classroom and I continued staring at “her”.
I liked her, the shape of her eyes, her posture. I liked her hair, I liked her voice, I would go to the ends of earth for her.
I loved her name.. ” Stormy Hale” It was a unique name, she was an angel to me. Yet as much as I love her, I didn’t let her know how I felt about her. I was afraid.
I had chances like this before, chances to talk to her, chances to let her know how I feel, chances to take her out on a date. I never took them. I didn’t want to humiliate her in front of her friends. We were in different leagues.
Stormy was friends with the popular girls, she was friends with the drug pushers, she was friends with everybody except the nerds, and the autistic kids, the rejects, people like me.
Yeah they labeled me with autism, I tried to hide it, I tried not to make it obvious but its not good enough for most people. Especially the kind of people Stormy hangs out with. She can’t like a freak like me. Or maybe she can.
Maybe its time for me to find out.
