Chapter V

New Temple

Many years ago, there was a tribe that believed on the god Kangaroo. One day, a Kangaroo went to an altar and fell asleep slept there. Next morning this tribe found the Kangaroo (he was a really big Kangaroo) sleeping on the altar. The tribe believed that the god Kangaroo had sent a message. They believed that the message was that they had to construct a new altar but more than that, an entire temple. It was not an easy task, also because of the weather of their territory: hot and dry.

The gods decided to help this tribe that was honouring one of their brothers. Although the gods were angry because this tribe only honoured the god Kangaroo, they thought that the only tribe that honoured this god were them so the gods decided to help. The gods sent the soul of the architect; in that tribe his name was Hak-nekheb. Hak-Nekheb

grew up studying the geography of Australia and with his studies he learned the location of the natural resources on Australia.  When he was 20 years old, he had to give some bad news to the tribe. He said that they didn’t have enough resources for the temple. The tribe had to go to New Zealand territory for some resources (of course with the inhabitants’ permission). The problem was that the tribes of New Zealand were all enemies.

The chief of the tribe, who was a very young person, said that they would attack the enemy tribes. The wise persons tried to convince the chief that attacking was a bad idea and that they finally should achieve a peaceful environment. At the end, almost all the tribe could convince the chief about getting to live in peace with their enemies. Really the chief didn’t want the peace. He wanted to use magic and made the enemy tribes weaker, which wasn’t a good idea (New Zealand tribes were very powerful and very united). The chief thought it would be a good idea to have a war. War was he wanted, war was he was going to receive.
