Dev made his breakfast and turned on the TV. He was thinking. “Oops,” he thought. “On Thursday I made

a date to go to the movies with Kalpna. I’m gonna have to get out of that somehow. I totally forgot. ” He

had cleverly managed to get out of his date with Sheena. Now he had to do the same with Kalpna. He

relaxed and sat down and watched TV. He worked at IBM.  He could tell Kalpna that he was on call. As it

is, they would call him at 1 in the morning to sort things out when there was malfunctioning.

Sheena thought about her date on Thursday. She loved Chandels. Their date would be so romantic. Her

dates with Dev were always romantic.

After Dev came home from work he called Kalpna.

“Hi Kalpna.”

“Hi. we’re going to the movies Thursday, right?”

“Uh, I can’t.”

“Why not?”

“I have to work that night.”

“You didn’t tell me that before.”

“They just called me. I’m so sorry.

“Fine,” Kalpna said angrily as she slammed the phone down. “I can’t believe this.  I made special

arrangement for Suarez to work for me on Thursday. What the hell am I supposed to do now?’

She was a dentist and she had had a really tough time getting Thursday night off.”Ah well,” she said.

Whatever”

Finally Thursday night came. Sheena was so excited about the date. She got dressed. She had a seductive

spaghetti strap red dress that came six inches above her knee. She also wore four inch high heel red

sandals to go along with it. Sheena put on some Lancome Rouge red lipstick, tan foundation to accent her

fair complexion, Revlon Fire & Ice eyeshadow and Estee Lauder mascara. Then somebody rang the

doorbell. “Comiiing!” she cooed.

“Hi,” she said.

Dev looked down at her shoes and worked his way up to the thin, tiny straps that supported the dress

“Wow,” he said. “You look amazing”

“Thank you,” Sheena said blushing. “Let’s go.”
