Finally everyone from Plus Ten meets each other.

Eight o’clock in the morning of April 13, 1978, Mark Newmar called my mom to let her know that I was hired. She rushed to wake me up, so I could meet him and the other girls that were picked to perform in their Playhouse.

I got dressed, but I didn’t brush my hair. Since I was five years old, I didn’t think it was important. I was just anxious to start working.

Gabe Diamond, Clive Mauer, Lance Flame, and Mark were in a huge room waiting for all the accepted girls. Gabe gave me a huge smile. I looked at Gabe’s face, and I knew right away that he was the one that voted for me to join the Playhouse. I smiled back.

California walked inside the room, and I got excited. She got accepted as well. We were able to work together. I thought it would be nice to have a friend to be by my side while working. Then that snippy blonde, Piper Warner, walked in, and I was not excited about that. Cali wasn’t happy either, and we looked at each other and snared.

Piper walked in front of Cali and me and moved her nose up in the air, “You look like boys. Girls don’t have short hair.”

Cali snarled and I rolled my eyes. Finally, the girl with the golden-brown hair entered inside the room. She was quiet and shy. Cali walked to her and asked, “What is your name?”

She quietly answered, “Stephanie Jones”.

Stephanie definately seemed nicer than Piper. I was hoping that the other girls would be nicer than Piper. The next three girls walked in, and two of them were cousins: Karmen Olman and Joni Knoles. The third girl was a close friend to the cousins and her name was Elise Marie Hall. Elise Marie liked to be called E.M. for short…

Karmen was a tomboy wearing boy clothes. She didn’t know what to expect from us, so through her expressions, she did not like aggressive people. Joni was very much like Stephanie by being very quiet and shy. E.M. was Karmen’s shadow and walked around the room like he was her twin. She didn’t dare say anything, and let Karmen answer all of the questions.

Fifteen minutes later, Crystal Cummings and Eve Roman arrived. They were best friends that could not been torn apart. Crystal had very long blond hair. She was also quiet and shy. Eve smiled and giggled a lot, and a lot people liked that about her. Tammie Kerns was the last young girl to arrive. Tammie wore brown cowboy boots. I wasn’t used to seeing girls wearing those kind of boots. I thought it was so interesting that Mark and Gabe picked girls that had different personalities and different choice of clothes from each other. I didn’t know how we would get along with each other.
