Gossip about Quinn and Kayla starts in the church.

Kayla returned to work on Wednesday. It had started out to be a very good day. She was feeling well, no headache, no dizziness, and no nausea.

Quinn was in a happy mood, whistling the tune of “I’ll Fly Away” as he moseyed down the church hallway. He quit whistling when he came to Kayla’s office. He mischievously slipped into her office and quietly closed the door, tiptoed up behind her. (She was seated at her desk with her back to the door.) He lowered his head and kissed her on the neck. Kayla jumped do to the fact that she didn’t realize he had entered the room. Then he whispered in her ear, “I love you Kayla Stevens.” She turned her face to him and kissed his lips, “I love you too,” she said.

“I’m so glad you’re feeling better,” he said as he sat on his heals and turned her chair to face him.

“Me too,”

“I just want to let you know that I talked to my brother. He told me he wanted to apologize for what happened. He didn’t mean for you to get hurt,” he said. “He wanted you to think he was me at first so you would talk to him, but it backfired on him before he had a chance to talk to you about what he really wanted to talk to you about.”

“And you believe him?”

“Why shouldn’t I? He hadn’t been drinking that day… had he?”

“No, not that I could tell, but did he tell you the part where he locked your office door and started kissing me and fondling me?” A frown came across Quinn’s eyebrows. “He was kissing and fondling you,” he asked jealously.

“Yes, I thought he was going to rape me right there in the church.” Quinn stood up and walked over to the door and turned around.

“I can’t believe him,” he said gritting his teeth, “he lied to me.”

“Maybe he had good intentions to begin with,” Quinn said as he tried to make excuses for his brother. He walked back over to Kayla and knelt down in front of her again and took her hand in his.

“Yeah, that’s probably what happened. He had intended on telling you who he really was and apologizing about the other night, but when he got you alone he just couldn’t help himself. I know you have that affect on me,” he said looking into her eyes, and then to her lips and as he leaned in to kiss her she backed away. “So you’re saying it’s my fault that he nearly raped me? Maybe you think it was my fault the other night at the bar and the time it happened to me when I was 14!”
