Thanasi arrives at the side door off the kitchen with Officer Rueben. Officer Rueben knocks on the door. Hildie turns down the fire on the stove and walks over to the door to answer it. She opens the door. Hildie: “Thank God. You have found him.” She looks at Thanasi. Hildie: “Where you go? Why you run away?” Officer Rueben: “I found him at the Chicago Airport trying to get a ticket to California.” He hands Thanasi’s ticket to Hildie. Officer Rueben: “He was reluctant to come with me. But he’s alright.” Hildie: “Thank you so much for his safe return. Won’t you come in? I just make some agvolemono soup no too long ago. Maybe you like to have some?” Officer Rueben enters the house with Thanasi. Officer Rueben: “Actually. I’m not very hungry, ma’am. Perhaps some other time. I really should be heading back to the station.” Hildie: “Very well. Thank you once more…Officer…uh…” Officer Rueben: “That’s Officer Rueben, ma’am.” Officer Rueben replies while pointing to his name tag.

Officer Rueben: “No problem, ma’am. Just doing my duty.” He exits the house, closing the door behind him. Hildie: “ Thanasi, you have explaining to do.” Thanasi: “Oh. Is that a fact? Aunt Hildie, you need to mind your own damn business and let me live my life the way I want. It’s not like I asked to live here anyway. “ Hildie: “Why you leave with no say where you go? And what business you have to go to California?” Thanasi walks over to the sink, pulls out a pack of cigarettes and lighter from his coat pocket. He puts the cigarette in his mouth, pulls out a lighter from his coat pocket, and lights up cigarette. He takes three puffs from the cigarette. Removes the cigarette from his out. Blows out smoke from his mouth. He then puts the lighter back into his coat pocket, taps the cigarette over the sink and lets the ashes fall into the sink. He turns on the faucet and watches the ashes slide down the drain. He then crushes the cigarette in the sink. He then tosses the cigarette into the garbage disposal. He turns on the garbage disposal. Once the cigarette is broken down he turns the garbage disposal off.
