Thanasi confronts Hildie about some diaries that belonged to his father.

Later that night. A purple sofa is in the living room. There is an end table to the right

of the sofa. There is an icon of Greek Patron Saint George hanging on the wall above the sofa

and an icon of Virgin Mary holding Jesus Christ on top of the fire place, next to the photographs of

Hildie and Yorgo’s on their wedding day, Thanasis eleventh grade picture, and a picture of

Thanasi’s with his parents.

Thanasi arrives home. He unlocks the door and enters the house. Hildie is sitting on the

Thanasi: “Wherever I felt like it.”

Hildie: “Why you no tell me where you go? I was worry about you.” (Pause.) “How are

you?”

Thanasi: “Who are you, my keeper?”

Hildie: “Yes. You father want me to take care of you. And I obey his wishes. Do you

know what time is it?

Thanasi: (Sarcastically.) “No, I don’t. But if I should need to know sometime, I’ll be

Thanasi: (Sarcastically.) “You care to run that by me again? My hearing doesn’t seem to

Hildie:“You hear me. I want you be here at time I ask you. I no give time for tonight.

But from now on it, you will have time to be here. And you give me call when you reach you

destination and when you leave destination.” (Pause.) “I was worry sick about you. What if

something happen to you? I no have clue about where you

go.”

Thanasi takes off his blue denim jacket and throws it on the sofa.

Thanasi: (Sarcastically.) “Well, that just breaks my heart.”

Hildie: “Why you do this?

Thanasi: “I don’t owe you any explanation as to where I was or anything of the sort.

Where I go is my own business.”

Hildie: “I put stop to that.”

Thanasi: “Oh, really? And just who do you think you are? Wonder Woman? Spare
