Follow the story of Treydon Austin (aka Smokey) as he chases down the cleverest, fastest, most uncatchable, most unmatchable members of The Bandit’s crime Syndicate as the government’s secret weapon against guys who are just too fast to catch. Check back every monday for the latest chapter to this fast paced action novel.
I checked the box for all my required classes like English and Government, and then I looked at the list. I checked the boxes for, Law Enforcement, Technology Lab, Occupational Auto Tech, and of course the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class. My dad never said I had to grow up to be a doctor or a lawyer or anything. He just said, “be all you can be and learn all you can learn.” That was my plan.
The first day of school my brain doesn’t care to remember, except for my last period, which was EMT class. That’s where I met the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Her name was Dixie Dawn. She had golden hair, not blonde, it was natural. She did have highlights of lighter blonde in her hair, but I could tell that the main golden color was natural. With a name like Dixie Dawn, you could only guess where she is from, and if you guessed Memphis Tennessee you would have guessed right. She didn’t have that cliché southern accent, but you could tell being around it so much had changed her speech. She sounded beautiful. Her voice stood out because it wasn’t high and annoying like a lot of girls voices were. It was just a little lower, not like, mega bass low, but just a little lower than the others. It was smooth too; words slid out of her mouth, followed the floor, crawled up your body and went into your ear. It made me shudder.
She was sitting on the other side of the room from where I had decided to sit. I was too nervous to move to her table. I didn’t know if my legs would make it that far. She saw I was looking at her; I quickly shook my head and looked to the floor, like an idiot. I heard her laugh and I looked up again, she gave her friends the little hand signal that said “hold on one second,” then she got up and started to walk toward me. She sat down right across from me. She flipped her just-past-the-shoulder length hair back and giggled. “Were you staring at me?” she asked. Oh no, she knew, that was dumb. Why was I staring like a total creeper? I had to think of some sort of cover up.
