I got to my car and set my backpack on the roof, and nervously fumbled with the keys in my pocket. I jittered through the house key, the ignition key, and finally, the door key. I tried to put the key in the door, but I missed the keyhole because I was so jittery.
Then the strangest thing happened, my door just opened. I didn’t even unlock the thing and my door magically opened. It swung into my waist and I was very confused. I looked inside my car to find that Dixie Dawn was already sitting shotgun. Oh great, not only was my car an absolute mess, but she saw my hobble like a deranged orc to my car. To make things even worse she saw my fail at putting a stupid key in a keyhole.
She smiled at my stupefied face and said, “Your locks are a lot like mine, really easy to pop open,” I shuddered again; she just had the prettiest voice. I clicked into ‘duh’ mode again. “Yeah, they are, aren’t they?” I said stupidly. I sat in the driver’s seat and put the key in the ignition. Dixie giggled, “Don’t you want you backpack first?”
Oh duh my backpack was still on the roof and I was about to drive off without it. “Uhhh yeah,” I pulled the key out of the ignition and went outside and put my backpack in the trunk. It form fitted to the soft pile of last year’s papers. Ok, rock n’ roll time.
I got back in the driver’s seat and I fired it up. The radio was blasting loud from when I drove it from the auto shop. Parry Grip sang “WE GOT GREAT NACHOS, AT A GREAT PRICE-” I jumped, and said– “sorry.” I put in my Boston CD I had made, track one was, Surrender to Me.
Funny, how one of the things I remember is the song I played. Boston is defiantly Camaro music.
The engine roared intensely. I pressed on the gas and revved it up. The needle on the aftermarket tachometer bounced and the entire car torqued to the right. I put on my seat belt and she did too. I looked at her and said “It’s a three ninety–” she cut me off “Yeah, a three ninety six big block, I looked at it while I was waiting, you know most guys with car’s like these just stick with the good ol’ three fifty small block”
