The reason for the attack makes it no more understandable.

Sandra motioned to the doctor.  “The guy was taking blood out of his arm.  I saw that.  He was going to inject them with it when Mitzi kicked him and broke it.  I think he may have been trying to infect them with AIDS.  It might help her to know that she prevented that.  He planned to hurt them when he came in he just didn’t have time to do what he wanted to do so he took my gun and shot them.  Those bullets were really devastating.  It wasn’t her fault.”  The doctor motioned to the SAC and they had a conference.  Within a few minutes the SAC returned.  He had confirmed that the intruder was in fact HIV positive.  Mitzi had protected herself and her children from a certain death sentence.  They would tell her as soon as she woke and hopefully it would help her come to grips with what had happened.

Jaci was able to get from the wheelchair to the bed and get in when she returned.  She placed her crutches where she could reach them but it would be difficult to use them without help.  She still had an IV in her left arm and a catheter in her bladder.  The external plumbing was an impediment.  The doctor came over after she was settled, “Your vitals have stabilized and since you’re up and moving we need to get you some breakfast.  Nurse.  See if we can get this young lady something to eat.  Also I think we need to get part of that other plumbing out now that you can get up you should be able to go to the bathroom on your own.  If you don’t feel up to the trip you can use a bedpan.  I think the sooner we can get you to normal the better.  I believe we are going to see you ready to leave here before too long.”  He prepared her to remove the catheter.  “Take a deep breath, let it out and relax.  It will not hurt but it will feel funny.”  She felt him pull the tape off her leg and then felt a funny sensation as the bulb in her bladder deflated and he pulled the tube out.  “If you can’t go on your own we can put it back in but the sooner we get you back to going on your own, the better.”
