The pain in Kathy’s right leg was intense.  She knew at once it was broken.  She tried to move to relieve the pain but his body prevented it.  The guard finally was able to get his weight off her legs but he collapsed next to her.  There was something seriously wrong with his left foot.  He used his radio.  Within minutes help arrived and soon they were on gurneys parked next to each other waiting for the x-ray.  She was taken first.  She had simple fractures of the right tibia and fibula.  They reduced the fracture, casted her leg and took another x-ray to confirm the reduction.  Within two hours and a half she was being shuttled to the PT department to be fitted for crutches and trained in their use.  She had sprained her right ankle, injured her left knee when she was in her teens and had a broken right leg in the motorcycle accident so she was familiar with using crutches.  The PT tech watched her use them, reminded her of some safety issues and signed her out.  The guard was following her through the process.  He had fractured of two bones in his foot.  He was given a short leg cast but needed crutches till the cast set.  He had never used crutches so his training lasted long enough for her to get out of the area before he could alert someone watch her.
