To save her life Kathy has surgery.
The resident checked her leg for any sign of infection, there was none. He told her she could use the button for pain but she refused the medication because she did not want to be out of it. She had a life to live. He offered some milder medication that he promised would help but not make her sleep. She accepted. He also ordered her some breakfast. It would be mostly liquid with some oatmeal but it would be something to eat. Before he left he asked if she wanted to go to PT that morning. She said yes and he signed the order for it. She would start her recovery today. This first trip only got her crutches and a short walk on them but she was starting back.
Jason came back shortly after she returned. She was obviously tired but she was out of bed several times using the crutches. She kept telling him she had to get her strength back.
Because of threats in various areas the secret service kept the president’s family in their room. Throughout the country, the night was worse. Three gay bars in San Francisco were torched killing fifty three people. Fires were set at multiple exits at the same time trapping people in the burning building. Only fast response by the fire department prevented the loss of life from being much higher. A club that was frequented by lesbians was also set fire. A hundred and ninety people were inside. Only seventeen survived. Thirty seven private homes of pastors and seventeen churches that opposed the gay lifestyle were also burned with some loss of life. Nineteen police officers were wounded and four killed during the night, some by sniper fire.
