The story of an everyday henchman.

My first week has come to a close.  I spent three days training and saw my first action today!

I was at my post in the third floor lobby when silent alarm in the eighth floor server room sounded off.  Following protocol I went to the stairs to block the exit route.  My boss, Robert, is very particular that we follow our training and stick to our designed routes depending on the situation.

On the stairs I headed up, a bit out of breath when I reached my post on the seventh floor.  I could feel my hands tremble a little as my thumb slid over the safety of my gun.  I was sweating for which I was given quite a bit of hassling from the guys before I left.  I heard a noise against the eighth floor door and swallowed hard.  Then Robert got on the radio saying it was a false alarm and he welcomed me to the team.

We went out for drinks afterwards and the guys told me it was what they did for the newbies.  But I’m not so sure.  As we were leaving I saw two men carrying a large 6-foot long bag to a van then drive away.
