“I heard the kittens screaming of fear in a bag he was carrying over his shoulder. I ran up to him, jumped and scratch his hand that was all I could do before he kicked me”.
Oisin told Snoopy everything that happened last night. “So, and now you are looking for Puck’s home, are you?” Snoopy asked when Oisin was finished talking.
“Yes, do you know where he lives?”
“Well as a matter of fact I saw what happened yesterday. A big man with dark eyes came out of that street,” Snoopy replied while she pointed with one of her front paws. “I heard the kittens screaming of fear in a bag he was carrying over his shoulder. I ran up to him, jumped and scratch his hand that was all I could do before he kicked me.”
“Thanks for doing that, Snoopy, you’ve been of great help,” Oisin’s nose softly touched Snoopy’s. For a moment it looked as if they were kissing. Mammy and Daddy Xmas gazed each other a twinkle appeared in Daddy’s eyes.
Without further delay Oisin quickly walked to the street Snoopy had pointed out. He peeked in each window of all the houses he passed. Then finally at the second last house, he saw a young girl comforting a mother cat. The cat looked just like Puck. To his horror he also saw the dark eyed man with the scratch on his hand. “What are we doing now?” Oisin asked alarmed.
“Don’t you worry my dear,” Daddy Xmas said. “I will sort everything out tomorrow on Christmas Eve.”
“I don’t understand how this is going to be alright?” Oisin asked astonished.
“I am going to ask Mr. Sandman to give the bad man a dream, to make his heart soft again,” Daddy answered.
“Are you now?” Puck asked.
“Yes sweetheart, he is,” Mammy Xmas smiled gently at the kitten.
“How do you reach Mr. Sandman?” Oisin wanted to know.
“Usually we ring him on the mobile,” Mammy replied. With that saying she put her hand in her pocket and took a small object out of it. “There you go Joe.” Handing him the phone, Daddy looked at his wife in disbelief.
“What! You got the phone with you? Why didn’t you say that while we were lost in the forest yesterday evening? We could have rung for help.”
