Lives intertwine as the shootings continue.
“But one legged is how you are. He just likes you that way. Don’t misunderstand he didn’t want you to be one legged. But you are and he likes it. Would you have a problem if he liked blue eyed women?”
“Well, yes.”
“Would you consider getting blue tinted contacts?”
“Sure. If he likes them.”
“But if he likes you with one leg that is no good. If you had two legs and wanted you to have one cut off I’d call that sick. Since you have one leg and he likes you that way I would call you fortunate.”
As she finished the sentence another person entered the room. It was Dan. “Jan! Are you trying to scare me to death? You get shot. I almost loose you once. Then I go home and find you’re missing. No note, no nothing. I called 911 they suggested you might be here.”
“I’m sorry. I needed to be here. I just didn’t think. Let’s let them alone we need to talk.”
She crutched out in the hall with Dan following her. She headed straight for a public restroom down the hall. He followed. At the restroom she pulled the door open. “Come in with me.” He obediently followed. “I need to check something.” With them inside she locked the door.
She reached up under her skirt and unhooked her cast. She lay it on the commode seat and turned toward her husband, pulled the skirt up and tucked it in her waistband. “Don’t touch the stitches, but touch my stump.”
With no hesitation he took it in his hands. It was like he often handled he breasts. Her hand went to his belt and she dropped his trousers then pushed down his shorts. He was totally erect. It felt good to have him massage her stump. “Down Dan, We can’t do that here. But I needed to see this.”
“Why can’t we do it here?”
They had sex, standing, her on her crutches, him supporting her with her stump rubbing his leg. When they finished they pulled themselves together and exited the restroom. They headed back to Mindy’s room but the door was shut. They returned to the nursing station. Jan gave the nurse her home phone number to give to Mindy and they left.
