Day 73

Mindy called Jan about 8 AM.  “Morning Jan.  This is Mindy.”

“You sound better.”
“A little, I think.  I still feel sleepy.”

“Did you spend time with Phil?”

“I don’t want to tell you about what happened.”  She sounded almost embarrassed.

“You had sex with him in the hospital bed and both of you really got turned on.”

“How did you know?  Did you see us?  Did the nurses find out and tell?”

“No to all three.  I just know what Dan and I did in the restroom down the hall after we left your room.”

“You’re kidding?”

“No, I’m not proud of where we did it but we did.  But it sure was fun.  I hope nobody was outside listening”

“God, it sounds almost like us.  Can I ask did he get really turned on?”

“Hotter than I have seen him in months.  What about Phil.”

“Same here.  I wouldn’t have given up a leg for it but I like it.”

“It’s like the double EE’s.  Want to try for them?”

“Heck no.  Little stubby is good enough.”

“How long are you going to be in the hospital?”

“They said I can come home tomorrow.  I have to check in with the shrink for a month at least.”

Jan laughed,  “Good.  She sure straightened me out.  And for free.”

“Getting a free shrink is almost like getting a free lawyer.”

“For sure.”

“You know I don’t know if the stump is more sexy or they just realized they almost lost us and that is driving the additional interest.”

“That could be.  But I don’t care why.  I like it.”

“So do I.  How are you doing?”

Jan was silent for a couple of minutes.  “You know when I called you I was desperate.  I had looked at a bottle of pills in the bathroom and considered taking them.  I called you for help.”

“God no, you too.  But you didn’t take the pills.”

“No, I didn’t.  But I didn’t do it because the bottle was only a quarter full.  I knew there weren’t enough in it to do the job.”

“You’re not just telling me this to make me feel better?”

“No.  I even checked.  There was a refill on the prescription. I considered going out for them.”
