The Path after Death
Chapter IV: Sacred Forest:
I was slowly walking among the shining leaves falling from the beautiful, green trees. The red flame surrounding the forest was like a cage protecting this sacred place from the impure outside world. The more I was walking towards the center of the more fiercely the fire was burning. After hours of walking I reached a dead end. I was surrounded by ten enormous trees. As I was looking around for a way to continue my search the trees began to shine with a blue light and three angel like creatures appeared.
“What are you seeking for in this sacred place?”
I told them that I was looking for the “Eye of God” and asked them if they know where I could find it. They looked at me for a while and then said:
“We know where the Eye of God is but we don’t know if you are worthy of carrying such a sacred item. However there is only one way to find out.”
Saying those they raised their hands to the sky. A white light came down through the red flames carrying the item I was searching for. It was a silver ring with a blue stone attached to it. The stone resembled an eye and had a small flame burning inside.
“Take it and put it on your finger. If the ring accepts you all your sins will be erased and you will be able to return to your world but if it doesn’t accept you, your very memory will be erased.”
I took it and admired it for a while, and then I put it on my finger. It began to shine with a bright blue light which blinded me for a moment. When my sight came back to me I was outside the forest. As I was watching it, it burst into fire and in a few minutes turned to ashes swept away by a warm wind. When I looked towards my right I saw the hooded man coming towards me.
“The Eye of God, do you have it?”
I told him I do and that he should be careful with it. Giving him the ring I told him what the angel-like creatures told me. After hearing those he began to laugh and put the ring on his finger. It began to shine with a white light.
“See? There’s nothing to be afraid of.”
As he said those words the light turned black and surrounded him. His screams were heard all over the place as the ring was devouring his soul. Before I knew it he was tuned to nothingness the only thing left behind being the ring. I took it and started walking towards the tower-like construction knowing that I had to keep the ring away from anyone else so it won’t kill anymore.
