Dear Reader,

A few years back, I participated in National Novel Writing Month. I wrote The Red Chair not entirely sure what would result. It was grueling work for several reasons. The simplest was the fact that my goal to complete a novel by the end of November looked impossible. The most complex and arcane was the way the book assembled itself.

I present to you my novella for your pleasure. It is a murder mystery told in conversations. At times, it becomes convoluted and other times it is vividly brilliant with life. I humbly beseech you to read my little work.
