Part three to The Sabotaged Cake.
Emma knew she had to at least tell the head of cookery, if not the Headmaster himself about Victoria. So she did.
It was Wednesday afternoon, period 5, time for cookery class again. And this time neither Emma nor Victoria were excited about it. Emma sat down at her desk looking straight at Victoria. She noticed the usually so confident 14 year old had a worried, scared look wiped over her face. There was a tense atmosphere filling the whole room, Emma was biting her lip, Victoria was sweating like a pig. They were looking right into each other’s eyes; they seemed to be having a silent battle telepathically. Annie, who was sitting next to Emma, heard footsteps. Emma and Victoria couldn’t hear a thing because they were both too deep in thought. Nobody stopped what they were doing to look sensible for the teacher, because Mrs Barkley was so dippy and jolly she wouldn’t give a flying monkeys. The classroom door flung open, everyone jumped in shock (including Emma & Victoria). Victoria stared down at the floor, Lillie, her ‘partner in crime’, tapped her and whispered, “Look, it’s…” she was interrupted by a booming voice, “How dare you!” it said. Victoria still had her head down, nobody spoke for a few minutes. She realised the man was talking to her, and she knew exactly who it was.
She slowly lifted her glued on eyelashes and gulped. “My office now!” Said the voice. “But…” she pleaded. “No buts Miss Larae, now please.”
