  The Earth, it is a normal planet. Many people believe life is not on any other planets, but they are wrong. Far off, in another universe, another race of humans live, who also require oxygen. Many people on this planet have certain tasks. The females stay at home, and do all of the cooking, but sometimes they do the males job. The male must hunt, and defend his village from mysterious monster attacks, from a simple velociprey to a dangerous Chameleos! For some strange reason now, the monsters are becoming even more vicious! They attack more frequently, and some strange sub-species are evolving. In this story, we will focus on the town of Icala, a town in a snowy area. This town has been showing the strangest creatures, and we will find out why!

Chapter 1: Nick

  “Ugh, shut up out there,” Nick screamed. Nick is your average hunter. He wields his Ice Blade in pride, as he is the Hero of Icala. “Shut up or else I’ll……”
  “Nick, please stop! They are only children, you musn’t bother them. Anyway, it is a Saturday, so they don’t have school and they will be outside playing,” Nick’s wife, Carmen said.
  “Who cares how old they are! The children here should be proud and respect everyone who is sleeping, they are lucky enough they didn’t die yet!” Nick yelled. Carmen was shaking in fear. She had no idea why Nick was acting like this. Right then and there, she remembered something important. “I know why you are being all cranky today. Today is when you have to make your speech,” Carmen guessed.
  “Yeah, but everyone has heard my speech about 100 times! Can’t we just take a break from it. The speech only tells new members of our community how I saved the village, and nobody new has moved here in 10 months!” Nick explained with anger in his eyes. “Why can’t something new just happen! There is never anything fun going around in this town! Same people, same food, same houses, same everything!”
Suddenly, a loud knock was heard on the door. Nick sat there silently as Carmen went to the door. Another knock was heard. “Hold on, I am almost there,” Carmen told. Carmen opened the door, and to her surprise, the mayor was there.
  “Well, howdy everyone. Nick, I was just making sure you were up because you must make your speech to everyone, including the new family that just moved in!” the mayor chuckled. “They seems to have heard lots about you, and they were hoping you would go and see them!”
  “Someone….. new?” Nick questioned. “Why… why I’ll be there right away!”
  “See, good things can happen Nick. But the strange thing is, they heard about you. Maybe they are from our neighboring town, Snolz,” Carmen wondered.
I n the blink of an eye, Nick changed. He was in his Velociprey clothing, and he was carrying all of his weapons. “Going to show off again Nick?” Carmen laughed. “Nick….. NICK! Oh fine, leave without saying goodbye to me!”
  “Now, everyone, without my further ado, I’d like to introduce you to the hero of this town, Nick,” the mayor said. Everyone applauded. The children all were eager, because they loved how each month, he shown them a new weapon. Nick walked up to the stand, and looked out into the audience. “Where are they?” Nick thought. “Where is the new family?” Looking among the crowd, Nick noticed something. Nick froze when he saw it, like he saw something from the Underworld. “That, that cannot be. I saw him, lying on the ground. I saw him DEAD! How can he be here?” Nick wondered.

Chapter 2: Ready for a Quest??

  “Umm, excuse me, Mayor Icees. That person, he cannot be here. I saw him dead!” Nick screamed.
The mayor laughed. “Who, Jeff? Oh, no no no! He is the twin of who you saw dead. He recently moved from Snolz.” Nick proceeded and started his speech. He explained about the most recent battle he had with an angry Velocidrome. While talking about this, he became very uncomfortable. Visions flashed in his head, of that velociprey he seen, except it was a green-brown color. After the speech, Nick shown the kids his weapons. The all stared at the killer blade in awe. “Wow, that is so cool Nick! I wish I could be a hunter like you,” a kid said. All Nick could so was smile. He knew he couldn’t tell a child this young the horrors of some things you can see.
  “Hehehe, now Nick, are you ready to start the first quest of the month? Your previous destinations were the burning hot Desert Sarnz, the molten Mount L, the relaxing Icala forest, and of course the jungle. We decided to add some new destination areas too! You can explore our various snow covered mountains, you can go along the Wacana Beach, explore through a rainforest, and on special occasions, you will be able to go to this strange tower,” the mayor explained. Nick thought about the wonderful choices. He wasn’t much of a hunter either. He only started hunting a month ago, and saved the village by accident. To top that off, he only did one quest. The last area he was in was the forest, so he decided to go there.
  “I guess I’ll go to the forest,” Nick decided.
  “I’ll go with you,” a voice shouted from the distance. Everyone looked towards Jeff, the twin brother. “My brother died in there, and I will kill whatever killed him!” Nick just stared, unsure of what to say.
  “Nick, you may need help,” the mayor said. Thinking of what monsters could be there, Nick agreed. Nick and Jeff started walking out towards the forest, and Nick watched Jeff carefully. One wrong move, and Nick will break Jeff’s neck. Jeff noticed him staring and said, “Heh, you don’t need to keep a close eye on me. You can trust me.” Nick just looked down. How could Nick trust someone new to the community, that somehow knew about him? Up ahead, a narrow path led to the forest. The path became bumpy and the air became humid. More nervous then before, Nick held his sword up. When Nick looked around him, Jeff was already ahead. Nick sighed, because he knew Jeff would leave him behind.
J eff stood still. He couldn’t move any bone in his body, even if he wanted to! “That…. that was,” Jeff tried to speak.
  “That was an elder dragon,” Nick cried. “If that thing was in the forest, who knows what else could be in there!” Nick started to panic. Jeff slapped Nick across the face. “Get a hold of yourself!” Jeff shouted.
They proceeded deeper into the forest. What they saw there, lying before them, was one of the most gruesome scenes imaginable.
