Embarking on their quest.
As soon as we had stopped and were solid beings again, I looked around. I had been aiming for a park down the road, in the woods under a shelter, but we obviously weren’t there. For one, we were in a dark, dank place, with stone walls, like a cave, but man made. It was curved, but smoothish. A bit rough, but that’s to be expected from stone. The little light in the large room was coming from one of Jasmine’s energy balls.
Henry made us both have this power, and I made one, along with him. We started searching, trying to find out where we were.
“Where are we?” Jasmine asked, voicing my thoughts out loud.
“I have no idea. I tried to go to the park. Someone or something affected my energy. That might be done with a… a… I don’t know, maybe a… an amulet. Like one of those ones my… mom…” I stopped. It’s kinda hard to find out the person you thought was your mom never was.
“Used to make sure you couldn’t sneak out when you were grounded. The one that made it so that every teleport was redirected to your safe house, or your bedroom, depending where you were.” Finished Jasmine. “I know this is hard, but just hang in. I think I know what did it, but only 75% sure. And that’s something. But I am quite sure I know where we are. And you won’t like it.” she finished. I let out a large sigh. From her voice, I had to agree. I wouldn’t like it.
“Where?” I asked.
“I think we’re in the Hall of Time, more specifically, the section that teleports people in and out of time. Like a time machine. I’ve heard of angels of time pulling people out of their time to do a job, but I don’t know if that’s what happened.” Jasmine was right. I didn’t like it.
“Why do you think it wasn’t what happened?” Henry, who was being quite silent lately, chimed in. I thought it might have to do with no angels around us, but that was just a guess.
“No reception party, and no way out of this room.” Jasmine said, agreeing with my unspoken thoughts. All of a sudden, though, I became aware of another consciousness in my head. Like a friendly thing, something I had felt before. Like a long lost friend, or a part of me I had lost. It lingered for another minute, then was gone. Al of a sudden, a large rectangle of wall, specifically one in front of me, opened up in a flash of light. Beyond it was a blindingly white hallway, like a sterile hospital. But, weirdly, I was the only one to see it. Henry and Jasmine weren’t looking at me, but at the floor.
