After Reese had pulled out of the driveway and onto the street, Cree looked over at him. “So what did you mean when you said me too?”

“About what?” Reese asked as he turned the corner.

“About giving advice,” Cree said, while fiddling with the radio. “Who were you talking about?”

“Oh, that,” Reese said with a laugh. “Just Denny.”

“Denny?” Cree said, surprised as he parked the car. “What would he need advice about?”

“Love,” Reese said with a devilish look in his eye. He didn’t say anything more as he entered the restaurant. They were greeted by the hostess who gave them a seat at their regular table. Reese quickly picked up a menu and thumbed through it. “What do you think about the roast beef?”

“Reese,” Cree said, looking at him with an annoyed expression on his face. “What did you mean, love?”

“If I told you, you would never believe it,” he said.

At that moment the waiter came over. “Are we ready to order?”

“Yeah,” Reese said. “I’ll have the roast beef dinner. What about you, Cree?”

“Ummm… I’ll take the basil chicken,” she said.

“Very well,” the waiter said and left.

“Okay, Reese,” Cree said. “Spill it.”

“Are you sure you want to know?” he asked. She shot him a death stare, saying you better tell me or else. “Alright. Denny’s got a crush on someone, someone we both know and love.” She listened intensely. “It’s Jenny.”

“What?” she shouted out. She looked around to see other people in the restaurant staring at her. “Are you serious?” she whispered.

“I’m very serious,” Reese said. “He told me he wrote her a letter.”

“It was him?” She looked on in shock. “You know about the letter?”

“Yeah, but how did you?” Reese asked her.

“Jenny showed it to me,” Cree said as the waiter returned with their food. “There’s something else too.” Reese looked intrigued. “Jenny’s got a thing for him. She got all weird when she told me he helped her with her books in the hallway today.”
