Trapped between the Veils
White Wolf Chapter Seven Part Four
Jentry stared out from the veil which separated him from Lisa and little White Wolf; trying to catch their attention, but his efforts was to no avail. He was stuck between the worlds! In limbo and could only watch what was taking place on the other side. He saw the Windigo in fact it was the Windigo that had lured him through the invisible portal and then shut the door behind him as it leaped through to the other side. Turning in his direction, its eyes glowing bright red like the fires of hell, the entity growled a warning in his direction! Foolish human! You cannot stop me! They belong to me now! Their souls are mine as well as that which I seek! The Blue Diamond is mine!!

Jentry remembered how the child once confided in him; he talked to great lengths concerning a struggle that raged on deep inside him. The boy told him that both the white wolf and the dark wolf were joined as one yet separate when the need would arise. The White Wolf represented his higher spiritual side while the Dark Wolf represented the warrior side.

Although in many ways it might be said that the dark wolf was evil, it was also tempered by its other side and when brought into balance proved to be very useful. The Dark Wolf was still as much a part of the child and intertwined within his soul. When Jentry question the child concerning which wolf was considered to be dominate.

The boy answered with, the one you feed the most.

Jentry felt something cold and wet touch his hand. He looked down and was surprised to see the wolf pack was with him now. Hey where did you guys come from? He said out loud as he ran his huge fingers through mother wolf’s fur. What happen next took him by surprise! Mother and Father White Wolf spoke directly to his mind!

Hurry foolish one! We must return to the other side and protect our man child! You that would let yourself be trapped so easily by the Windigo! Do you not see the barrier that holds you here is of your own making? Foolish man! You have let your thoughts create your own prison! Thought is a living energy an entity and transforms into reality! All that you perceive in your mind can take solid form! If you think you’re trapped, then trapped you are!

Taking a firm hold on his hands with their powerful jaws, mother and father wolf spoke to his confused mind once more! Trust us and clear your mind! Then upon sensing the changes within him as his fears began to fade, the wolves pulled him through his invisible barrier and back into the world where his sister and the boy sat huddled together near a small fire in the cover of the pines.

Lisa sprang to her feet upon seeing her brother and the wolf pack suddenly appear from out of nowhere! Where have you been? We have waited hours for your return! We were attacked by something! The child and a huge black wolf managed to fend it off! She said.

I know I watched it all but was powerless to help as I was trapped behind a veil within another world it would seem! I could see and hear everything yet the two of you could not hear or see me! He replied as he walked over and looked down at Little White Wolf, who was holding some strange crystals in his hand, as he sat beside the fire now writing in his journal.

You ok kid? He asked.

Yes we are fine for now. But we cannot stay here long because we still walk between the worlds and are trapped within the realm of the Windigo. There’s danger all around us here! I heard you telling your sister about what happened to you! We are in a trap set by the Windigo in hopes of separating and confusing us. We must stay together from this point on! White Wolf replied.

Looks like your right kid! This place is not at all what it seemed to be when I scanned it from above before we made our descent. It seemed to get stranger and stranger as we descended into the valley from above. I noticed my watch stopped working and the hands on my compass were spinning in reverse. At first I thought it was due to the buildup of mineral deposits in the cliffs but then I noticed something glowing in the distance. I went to check it out; I thought it best to go alone in case it turned out to be a trap.

White Wolf put his crystals back into his medicine bag along with the journal he had been writing in and turned towards his friend; he began to speak yet again just before going silent for a long time.

There are many worlds within worlds and countless portals through which one can enter into these worlds. You are lucky the wolves were watching over you my friend! Many still wander between the realms. The Windigo is a trickster spirit and used your fears against you. This is not the first time that the Windigo has used your fears to paralyze you either. Spirit Shows me another time several years ago you and others like you were stationed in the jungles of Peru. Your platoon was overrun by the enemy and you could have acted and saved your men but remained frozen unable to move due to not trusting your instincts.

You made a bad decision and were captured by the enemy. You have blamed yourself ever since and yourself guilt, has become your weakness! The Windigo played on this and drew you into the portal trapping you behind where you would be unable to help us. Do not let your guilt become the Windigo’s choice of weapons he uses against you! You will lose if you do!

Jentry did not reply. He never really understood the gifts of these special children and how they worked but he knew that the boy was dead on with everything he had just conveyed concerning the incident in Peru. He watched as Young White Wolf gathered up the crystals he had placed on the ground earlier, cleaning them all first; he then put them all away within his medicine bag.

We must leave this realm soon! There are those that wait on the other side and they too are working with the Windigo. We must move forward with caution. We need to leave now! The kid said as he gathered up the rest of his things.
