"Ladies and gentlemen, first of all, thank you ALL for making an effort to be here tonight."
“Oh please, Barry,” pleaded Jenna, “you know how I feel about my popcorn.” Barry looked at his watch.
“Hey, you tricky one!” “Your watch says 5.35 a.m. The correct time is 5.40 p.m. Your watch is 12 hours behind!!” Jenna smirked apologetically and replied.
“Well, I didn’t want to take any chances in missing the show.” Barry disappeared down the corridor to the snack shop. In the meantime, Jenna made her way into the hall. She was amazed at the sheer size of the arena. It was quite a long walk to the front. Fortunately, one of the staff came over and helped her. As they walked, the lights slowly dipped, which meant that the show was underway. Jenna wanted to walk quicker but the boy was at ease. Just then, Barry caught up and joined them. The boy put his pen torch on and within ten minutes they had arrived right in the front row. The boy bowed and left.
The curtains were now open and Barry quickly handed over the popcorn to Jenna who grabbed a few and popped them in her mouth.
“Ewwww! Oh Barry. You did it again. This happened the last time too.”
“What do you mean, Jenna?” She placed the bag back into Barry’s hands. “Go ahead, try some and you’ll see what I mean.” Barry took a few into his mouth. There was a moment’s silence and then he looked at her, apologetically.
“I’m so sorry, Jenna. I got buttercest instead of salted. Never mind. I’ll…” His words were cut with the announcer who spoke on stage.
“Ladies and gentlemen, first of all, thank you ALL for making an effort to be here tonight. I can assure you, it’s going to be a most memorable night. All you fans sitting here this evening are going to have a great time. Mickey Mcgoogal should be here any minute, so I would like to request you all that when he comes on stage, please give him a standing ovation. He is after all, your very own Mickey.
Barry stood up. “Jenna, I’m going to get you your popcorn and I wont take no for an answer. Excuse me.” And so, as Barry pressed his way across the seats filled with people, Jenna made herself comfortable. In his excitement, he accidently stepped on a few toes.
“Ouch! Hey watch it!” Said an elderly bald man holding a packet of cheese and onion crisps.
“AAh! my toes! Cried a young lady. Barry aplogised and carried on.
Unfortunately the moment he was out of sight, a scruffy looking man quickly pounced on his chair and sat beside Jenna, staring right into her eyes. Jenna grew twitchy and began to fumble then steadily moved aside but the man moved in even closer to her, after which he reached out his left arm and placed it behind her back.
“Aaaahh! Screamed out Jenna, aloud.
