A chapter from a story in progress. Takes place in a different realm, in a different time.

By popular request I am adding this note on pronunciation of the names herein.

Earymir Tadrierion: Eer-i-meer Tah-dreer-ee-awn
Koilin Riappi: Kuah-lin Ree-ah-pee
Cleavyan Rusil: Clayv-yahn Roo-sille
Lomode Nilmandra: Lohm-ohd Nil-mahn-dra
Eowóndil
Til-Galdur: E-ow-ahn-dill Till-gall-door
Earelia Tinarandel: Ear-ehy-lee-ah

Danus Barin: Dahn-us Bah-rihn

Earymir left the room, with his last words still hanging in the cold air, and quickly entered a concealed passage that few knew existed. He was none too surprised to find his second in command, Earelia Tinarandel, had been listening to the meeting, however secret it was supposed to be.
“I still don’t trust that man, Earymir,” she whispered so the others now leaving the room would not overhear. “He just does not seem to give this matter enough weight.”
“Do you think him a traitor, my old friend?” He replied with a soft chuckle, walking down the corridor between the walls, “Let me assure you, his attitude is due to his country’s track record with turning back assaults, not because of a lack of loyalty. If there is one thing Koilin is not, it is a traitor.”

“But he is a Dwarf, how far can we trust him?”

“A Dwarf, yes, but there are other Dwarves you do not question so, or at least you do not speak your mind if you do.” Earymir said, with a hint of a question.

“No, I trust her, though only because you do, but she is not like most Dwarves, she was not raised among them.” Earelia sighed, referring to Cleavyan, the Dwarven High Queen.

“So you think I am not to be trusted because I am not like most Elves, as I was not raised among them?” Earymir asked, with a slight smile.
