Novel about a not so distant Future thrown into Chaos.

Mom had let me drive the van. She sat up front with me and Rena stayed in the back with the kids. I drove slowly trying to keep my hands steady. We flew over the regular flow of traffic so that I wouldn’t be too nervous.
I spotted the car of my dreams off in the distance it was a silver S class Benz. It moved so nice, “wow!” I said softly as I saw it rapidly approaching. It looked like it was heading right for me then it flew over me the last second. Mom got so nervous that she had me pull over so that she could drive the rest of the way.
I couldn’t wait to get home to my bed, to my boyfriend. And when I finally did get home I rushed to the v-phone and called Glen so that I could see his face. “Hey.” I said when I saw him. He smiled and blew me a kiss. He is so sweet.
We talked a while about what I had found out about my mother. He nodded slightly and said, “I think I’ve seen her.”
“You have?” I asked incredulously.
“I think so,my father used to own one of the companies she took over. She is a corporate pirate, but dad couldn’t handle both of his companies. So he sold it, though he is still pretty much in charge of that company. Anyway she was at the party last night.”
“what makes you so sure it was her?” I asked very hopeful.
He chuckled, “I had to do a double take as you left. But I could be wrong though.”
“You see your dad much?” I asked.
“Yeah, that’s why he gave up his one company Glencoe Graphics.”
“oh… kay?” I asked not really understanding what that had to do with anything.
“well he wanted to be able to spend more time with me and m’mom so one day he asked me which one I liked better, so that I could keep it when I was ready so I told him Holoplay was cooler, so he sold Glencoe.”
