An extract from my continuing story Wanderer, it introduces the town of Goldhall, however the description of Goldhall is actually set at a time much later to when the rest of the tale is going to be set. this is so the reader can tell the difference. Enjoy:P.
Of course it had not always been like this. In the days of Saint Manias the mighty; ancient king of Anogg, Goldhall had flourished on a scale similar to that of the Capital City Calchor. At one time the oceans had been bountiful, the forests filled with potential wealth, and many foreign Travellers passed through the town bringing with them fine goods and spices for trade in Goldhall’s overflowing markets. It had seemed that Goldhall was going to be a wealthy City in its own right, perhaps even as wealthy as the young City of Calchor was becoming in those days. There was even talk of the King naming Goldhall capital of all Anogg; indeed it had been a great time for the growing Settlement of Goldhall.
Of course this had long been before the great tragedy that had robbed Sundu Bay of its bounty, and left the trees of Hakewood to the mercy of the unrelenting elements, an atrocity that had almost destroyed the Town of Goldhall and even threatened the whole Kingdom of Anogg itself. As when the wanderer made its fateful journey to the town of Goldhall, nothing would ever be the same again.
