Prologue

Two college students were jogging through the woods. when the boy saw a boulder up ahead and he sat down on it and began to tie his shoes. “Hey you want me to wait for you?” “No, Claire go ahead I’ll catch up to you.” he said. “Well alright.” she said and she contiuned down the trail. Just as the boy was finishing tieing his shoes he hears a rustling sound from behind him. “Claire are you there?!” the boy got up from off the boulder and followed the trail downwards. “Claire! Claire where are you?!” he shouted but there was no answer. The boy emerged from out of the woods and into the clearing but did not see Claire anywhere. “Claire, Claire it’s me Damien tell me where you are?!” But there qas still no reponse. Damien fell to his knees and screamed.

Chapter 1

Missing

So there I was once again sitting in an office at a local police station. The detective would ask me the same question over and over again. “Mr Damien were running out of opions here. My men serched all over those woods but we found no trace of her. You have to realize that it’s been six month now. And your girlfriend is good as dead.” How can you say that Mr. Nickelson you can’t just assume something like that yo have no proof,no evidence of her death! She’s still out there I know it.” I said. “Well either way this case is closed.” “What? No you can’t it must remain open.” I said. “Damien there’s nothing we can do we’re very sorry.” “That’s it your just gonna give up like that?” “We have other cases we must work on as well. The whole world doesn’t resolve around you Damien. We did our job the best we could now it’s time for you to your job as a college student and move on with your life.” I didn’t say a word I got up and left out of the office and walked along down the hall. 

I sat in my car and could feel the tears coming. I tried to fight back the tears but they consumed me and I just let the tears flow down my cheeks. I sat in the car just remebering all the times Claire and I spend with each other. I jug into the compartent boxand found a map and I pulled it out. I opened iy up and scanned the map. There was a town 50 miles fromm here. A town called Wolf Peak. As I drove down the road I saw a sign that read Wolf Peak 5 miles ahead and then under the first sign I saw another sign written in bold black writing that said NO HUNTING. By night fall I had arrived in the small town of Wolf Peak. I parked my truck into the lot and I got out the truck and closed the door shut and that’s ehen I saw a huge wolf’s statue in the middle of the town. I walked past the statue and went into a tavern,it was empty and the only person there was a young native man sitting down at a table and drinking a cup of coffee.
