Frankie Button is like any other schoolboy, but with one small difference… He is a zombie.
Zombie School Days – Chapter 2
Chapter Two
Brian schoolboys Draper watched Frankie Button and Barry “Boris” Karloff, slowly walk in the direction of the Head’s office. Brian was not alone, with him were his two friends Peter Laurie and Chris Lee. Brian was scheming, his tiny brain working on a dastardly plot – which was why Brian was still and quiet, he couldn’t do two things at once. Peter and Chris waited for Brain to say something. Out of the three, Pete was the most intelligent, he was Brian’s friend for self preservation only. Being an intelligent lad, he had worked out quite early that friendship with the school bully was the only way he would survive and avoid a regular beating. Chris on the other hand was as thick as a brick. The school hamster was smarter than Chris. Chris was studying the contents of his nose, which was now on the end of his finger when Brian stopped thinking and spoke.
“I am going to kill the zombie”
This was a common statement made by Brian, Pete had heard it many times and was now bored by it.
“He is a zombie, he is already dead” Pete answered in a bored tone.
“Well I am going to hurt him then” Said Brian.
“Again Brian, he is a zombie and he won’t feel pain” replied Pete as he stretched out his hand to stop Chris eating the juicy morsel on his finger.
“What do you say Chris?” asked Brian, hoping that his dim-witted friend would back him up.
“I am having fish for tea” came the reply.
Pete had heard this kind of exchange so many times, he was fairly certain that Chris was running on pure instinct. However at times he had to wonder whether or not Chris was faking how stupid he was.
“I know!” started Brian.
“Stop! Enough Brian – I have heard all this so many times – the answer is obvious, think about it” shouted Pete.
“Err… A clue?” said Brian, not really happy that Pete had shouted at him.
“You can’t do anything to Button – you are wasting your time. You need to go after Boris. He is Button’s best friend” Pete slowly said, he wanted this to register in Brian’s slow working brain.
“who’s Boris?” asked Brian.
“Boris” Chimed Chris.
“Boris Karloff? – Barry Karloff?” answered Pete.
“Why did you call him Boris?” Brian asked.
Pete knew that this could be a long conversation if he let it and he didn’t want that.
“It is just a nickname Brian – I will explain later” said Pete hopeful of a swift end to this chat.
“Oh, shall we kill the zombie’s friend then” quizzed Brian excitedly.
“Fish chips Boris fish chips Boris fish chips” added Chris.
“We need to make it look like Button has done something to his best friend” started Pete. “That way, people will think he is not safe and then everyone will want rid of Frankie Button” Smiled Pete.
“No more zombies in the school Brian”
“That is a good idea Pete” nodded Brian “How shall we do it?”
“I need to think a little about that” replied Pete.
They walked off, Brian now happy that the zombie problem was going to be dealt with.
“Chris!” shouted Pete. Chris had been left behind and needed reminding sometimes who he was with.
Chris was still watching Frankie Button and Boris as they knocked on the Head’s door, He slowly turned with a small smile on his face and followed Brian and Pete.
