Jesus gives me everything.
This was written Feb. 19,1996.
I do not need a diamond ring
When I have cabbages to hoe.
My Jesus gives me everything.
A house to clean,
A song to sing,
A man to love,
A child to grow-
I do no need a diamond ring.
I make a garden every spring
And sometimes,
Late at night,
I sew.
My Jesus gives me everything.
So why should I be hankering
For temporary things that glow?
I do not need a diamond ring.
When rainbow skies keep promising
The bliss of summer,
The kiss of snow.
My Jesus gives me everything.
From crisp green beans to snap and string
To life eternal.
Where I go.
I do not need a diamond ring;
My Jesus gives me everything.
