This is an assignment from english class. We were required to make a English Paraphrase paper. So this is a Paraphrase from Act 1, Scene 2, Lines 46-106.
In the second scene of act one, Paris talks to Capulet about marrying Capulet’s daughter, Juliet. After discussing Juliet getting married to Paris, Capulet accepts. Capulet then decides to have a party for the upcoming marriage of Paris and Juliet. He makes a list with names of everyone he wants to come to the party and sends a servant to seek out those people. The servant finds Romeo and Benvolio and asks if they can read the list because the serving man cannot read. So Romeo then reads the list for the servant. After Romeo read the list the servant says that Romeo and Benvolio can come, as long they are not Montagues. Benvolio suggests that that Romeo should go because Rosaline is going to be there. Romeo might also change his mind about Rosaline because of all the other beautiful girls that will be attending this party. It is a party with masks, so they won’t have to worry about getting caught and thrown out. Finally, Romeo agrees to go to the party.
