A poem.

168 hrs

echoes of your voice live in my recall
168 hrs and already I fall
what happened to my walls of protection
my fear of failure dread of rejection
I’m in awe at how quickly I was subdued
caught before I was even pursued

embarrassed at the thought of my weakness
but I smile at this journeys sweetness
defeat has never been so welcomed
gates of my heart never been so wide opened
a whirl wind adventure
of intrigue suspense and laughter

168 hrs of super intense emotion
caution set to the  wind in all the commotion
lost as to that which surrounds us
reality calls… an answer I must
for what will be  this stave end
acquaintance, foe or friend

168 hrs holds its own lifetime
with a past present future yours and mine
to fit so much in so little
turns these days into a cruel riddle
which outcome is ever changing
infinity leaving its answers hanging

168 hrs of pure bliss
168 hrs to miss
168 hrs and I was shaken
168 hrs and I was taken

168 hrs of words you’ve said
enlivened the heart that was left for dead
