The dictionary defines a soul as roughly the principle which makes matter lively; That principle may very well be biochemical reactions over time which randomly completed a rare interaction, much like the rare reactions which will cause an automatic explosion (the atomic bomb) or as in the case of the chemical reactions which if done in a certain fashion will produce the energies of a sun. Thus, you may not have a soul at all in the manner in which you mean it, but you do have atoms and molecules.
