Some are smooth as silk
While others are as rough
As a bumpy road

And floated merrily along
As I entered the world
I was appalled by my struggle
And glaring lights
- – -
My senses were bombarded
With a multiplicity
Of stimuli
That my mind couldn’t
Begin to fathom
- – -
I remembered
Being slapped
Wiped clean
With some fluffy material
- – -
While in the nude
With no diaper
I was laid on my mother’s chest
While my dad looked on
- – -
I felt mom’s tears of joy
As they streamed down
Her cheeks unto my face
That were warm
- – -
I knew without a doubt
Where I belonged
That I was really loved
And at last I was meeting
My loving parents
That will nurture me
