I wrote this poem a few years ago while inspired by the beauty of the snow and the stillness of the night. It relates the passage of time to the beauty of a snowy evening.

There’s a beauty in the night that was there some years ago,

a magic in the stars and in every flake of snow.

The silent dreams that yet awaited youth’s bright determined race,

but did with years too soon depleted to life’s scarred and care-worn face.

Yes, the magic may have dimmed with the passage of the years,

and many nights have come and gone in hope or hopeless tears.

And still the scene remains the same, the stars, the trees, the sky.

They know that they will still remain long after you and I.
