I sit beside my fellow man

knowing that we share an invisible bond

kind hearted christians share

their bounty with us

we appreciate that one of our

basic needs are being met

we humble ourselves to accept

this generous gift

for we are all children of God

we are the meek

the often forgotten

those who feed us open their hearts

with compassion

knowing that God so loved the

world that he gave his only

beloved son to teach us

to love one another

he did not come to save only

those who are blessed with bounty

but he came for the lowly and the

poorest of the poor

all mankind is a knitted blanket

each stitch being one of us

none is better than another

no matter what our fate in this life

those who have are commanded to give

to those who have not

that is the lesson of love that our LORD

died on the Cross to teach us all
