A poem about holding on even though it’s over.

I’m alive but love is dead. These thoughts run wild inside my head

Is there a cure; a remedy? Just go away, please leave me be.

Don’t answer me, your voice still hurts. Remembering you has made it worse.

What can I do? What can I say? I loved you more than every day.

But now you’re gone, the sun has set. We parted ways, I can’t forget.

Nothing more than a book, of a tale sad and true.

A book never read, but long time overdue.
