A Poem about how in the world today, most people just don’t care.
A Change For The World
By Donna Holt
As we grow older, we have to stop and think.
If someone wrote our story would they run out of ink.
Would they understand the mistakes that we made.
Could they understand the prices that we paid.
How would they know how life made us feel.
All the things we went through, all the pain was real.
Why would they care about the past.
Everyone has learned that things just don’t last.
We would go to the movies with a dollar in hand.
People took action they took a stand.
But, now ten dollars won’t go very far.
People gave up stop reaching for that star.
People used to judge you, by what was inside.
But, now they are fake, things they must hide.
Back in the day, neighbors were your friend.
Now they just don’t care, sufferings what they send.
When you were down, people used to lend a hand.
Now they sit and judge, no one cares to understand.
People cared about family, and love was everywhere.
The world has gone crazy, no one seems to care.
We have to stop the cycle, before the world comes to an end.
We have to make a change, for the better, my friend.
