Poem about the simple life of a chicken.
Chickens live a quiet life,
In coop or grassy knoll,
They peck at bugs
Without a care, of heart or body or soul
The hen, a chicken mother
The male, a rooster named
Laying eggs and crowing loud
Both for which their famed
Such a simple life to live
Without a care, you say
A chicken has no worries
No debt or bills to pay
We human beings should never
Boast about life’s hard lot,
Our feathery fowls, we’re sad to say
End up in a cooking pot
A chicken lives a quiet life
In coop or grassy part
I’d not trade a chicken’s life you see,
For I’m a chicken heart!
