I’ll never forget the day we met

My still, gray day was suddenly streaked

With deep dark colors that pierced my life

Like the violent stabbing of a knife

My mind went numb, my heart skipped beats

I danced, and twirled, and screamed, and leaped

But, as fast as our encounter began

Fate had dealt us both a bad hand

You’re now gone, and I’m back alone

But I have to get on with my life again

And here I lie within my bed

With a severely broken leg

All because my courage went

The day I laid eyes on that fat rodent!
